Lesli J. Wood, PhD
Dr. Wood is the Robert J. Weimer Endowed Chair and Professor in Sedimentary and Petroleum Geology in Geology and Geological Engineering at the Colorado School of Mines. Dr. Wood holds a Ph.D., Earth Resources, Colorado State University, an M.S. Geology, University of Arkansas and a B.S. Geology, Arkansas Tech University. Dr. Wood’s publications include 52 Peer-Reviewed Manuscripts since 1990, 2 Books, 18 Book Chapters and special sections, 14 field guides, 9 published interviews, 15 keynote presentations and 67 invited lectures. Lesli was elected as an honorary member to the Society of Sedimentary Geology (SEPM) in 2022 and is the current President of SEPM the Society for Sedimentary Geology. She was also named the 2022 recipient of the Robert R. Berg Outstanding Research Award by the AAPG. She teaches seismic geomorphology, integrated exploration and development and source-to-sink sedimentology courses, and has worked in the northeastern South American basins for 30 years.
