Margo Liss
Margo J. Liss is a Board‑Certified Petroleum Geologist and licensed Texas Professional Geologist with more than 30 years of worldwide petroleum industry experience. She has worked extensively in both exploration and production, with particular expertise in reserves estimation, risk analysis, and integrated reservoir studies for conventional and unconventional assets.
Margo has held senior technical and leadership roles with DeGolyer and MacNaughton, Schlumberger, and Mobil Oil Corporation, and has been an independent consultant since 2019. Her work spans asset evaluations, field development planning, reservoir modeling and simulation, and international reserves reporting across North America, South America, Europe, Africa, the Middle East, and Asia.
A seasoned course creator and instructor, Margo is widely recognized for her ability to integrate geology, engineering, economics, and risk into clear, practical guidance for technical and non‑technical professionals. She is fluent in English and Spanish, with working technical Russian, and is highly active in professional industry organizations.
