John Farrelly (BSc and MSc Degrees in Geoscience from the University of Texas) has over 35 years of experience in a wide range of technical, leadership and functional excellence roles across basins worldwide. John began his career with Amoco, BP, working in exploration, appraisal, field development and optimization and production geoscience. John is an accomplished professional who has also worked in assurance and project management and lead BP's global geoscience community as Director of Geology. He has expertise in oil and gas project feasibility, concept selection and asset optimization in basins worldwide with a track record of significant acreage capture, discoveries, exceptional field development planning and high NPV projects. He has consistently delivered substantial value in positions with global dimensions. Proven as a leader, integrator, and value-generator, in John's various roles he has interacted with teams regularly to help them understand technical and commercial viability, differentiate concepts, make development choices (concept, phasing, futures) and identify value levers. He oversaw the exploration through concept selection and into Define Stage for over 30 projects; advised on access criteria for new conventional and unconventional opportunities globally, M&A activities in Brazil and West Africa and provided multi-disciplinary guidance to teams advancing Greenfield and Brownfield projects. John is sought out for his effective consultation and advisory approach with experience in geoscience, integrated team and field management, and an array of industry practice. He has been relied on for informing many critical investment decisions. As an asset manager for several of BP's largest and most complex fields, John lead and implemented significant value-enhancing approaches capturing area potential, arresting decline, and creating new opportunities. He is adept at finding efficiencies and building strong relationships with management, personnel, and clients.
