Deb brings 20 years of experience in commodity and carbon markets to deliver expert advisory services globally. Guided by the vision to Inform, Educate, and Advise, Swan Mountain Advisory focuses on emissions & decarbonization, carbon markets, financed emissions,and transition risk, providing clients with the tools they need to navigate the complexities of sustainability.
Deb is passionate about using market-based solutions to drive the energy transition, while also assisting businesses in understanding and managing regulations, disclosures, and reporting requirements. She has held leadership positions at S&P Global, oil and gas operators, and within consulting firms, where she has built a track record of developing strategies that align operations and corporate sustainability goals. Known for her ability to simplify complex carbon market dynamics, she helps businesses translate these into actionable strategies for a competitive edge in the low-carbon economy.
Experience
S&P Global
Deb held key leadership roles focused on carbon markets and
emissions, leading the development of the first carbon and methane intensity assessments for commodity markets. She also spearheaded research on allowance and credit markets, emissions regulations, and financed emissions.
As a recognized speaker, Deb chaired major conferences such as
Global Carbon Markets and Carbon Management Americas. She has delivered keynotes, moderated discussions, and participated in panels globally.
CU Denver
Deb joined the faculty of the University of Colorado, Denver in 2023. She developed and now teaches the “Carbon Markets for Business” class as part of the Global Energy Management Masters program.
Sproule
Deb led the U.S. office, overseeing consulting services focused on
reserve evaluations, fair market value assessments, expert witness testimony, regulatory deposition, and operational optimization for global oil and gas clients.
