Isochore/Isopach Mapping Techniques

Instructors: Joseph L. Brewton, Dan Tearpock, Larry Walker, Ph.D.
Course Length: 1 DAY
Course CEUs: 1.0

Course Description
The basic methods used in the petroleum industry to map the volume of reservoirs are covered in this course. Many techniques are incorrectly used, unused, or unknown to some people required to make maps. These techniques are practiced in the course with exercises that illustrate the correct methods and present common pitfalls that lead to incorrect volume determinations and errors in the estimation of reserves. Quick Look Techniques are illustrated to recongnize errors on isochore maps are presented throughout the course. Pitfalls in isopach mapping are also covered.

Offered as a Public or In-house course.

Who should attend
Geologists, geophysicists, engineers, technicians, and managers who generate or use volumetric isochore maps for hydrocarbon reserve determinations.
