UPSTREAM RECRUITER

SCA has a unique opportunity for an experienced Oil and Gas Recruiter available now. The successful candidate will be a top producer skilled in recruiting Geoscientists (geologists and geophysicists), as well as upstream Engineering professionals. The candidate should have a BS degree in a science field and the potential to rise to another level. Experience in contract consulting recruiting is a must. Direct hire recruiting is a plus. Position requires a very motivated, flexible individual with strong recruiting and sales acumen who can work in a fast paced environment.

Business Development Manager
Technical Upstream Geoscience and Engineering

SCA, the worldwide leader in upstream petroleum consultancy and training services, has an immediate opening for an experienced geoscience/ engineering Business Development Manager.  Join the global SCA team to help us meet the growing demand for upstream technical training, consulting and new hire recruiting services.  If you are an experienced, motivated, self-starter who wants to help clients achieve their business objectives, this just might be the opportunity for you.

Responsibilities include:

  • Identify client needs and provide top quality services
  • Maintain SCA’s existing client base, seek new client companies, and develop new contacts within existing client companies
  • Generate new business through cold calls, prospecting, territory management and client relationship building
  • Develop strategic selling opportunities to further client industry education
  • Network through involvement in the community, petroleum societies, and civic organizations to enhance sales referral opportunities

Skills Required:

  • Proven business development track record and a minimum of 6-8 years in selling contract consulting or related services in medium to large upstream oil and gas industry accounts
  • Contract staffing recruiter experience (preferred)
  • Understanding of staffing metrics such as weekly appointment activity, phone calls and number of average prospects
  • Strong sales presentation and persuasion skills and the ability to communicate with middle to senior management level clients
  • Strong communication and understanding of how to qualify and forecast estimated closing time on job orders
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business or in a science field (preferred), or a combination of education and experience that enables performance of all aspects of the position

NEW INSTRUCTOR/CONSULTANT

With the growing demand for upstream technical training, SCA is looking for an additional instructor to teach various SCA classes both in the USA and overseas. The new instructor would be responsible for teaching at least three (3) of SCA’s classes including: 1) Applied Subsurface Geological Mapping, 2) Quick Look Techniques (QLT’s) from Prospect Evaluation to Reserves Estimates, and 3) Computer Mapping QLT’s- a hands on/mentoring course.

The ideal candidate will provide consulting services within his/her areas of expertise and have the following skills and background:

  • working knowledge of SCA’s interpretation, mapping and QLT methods
  • extensive experience with the primary computer mapping programs, including knowledge of the various algorithms and gridding processes, and resultant maps
  • strong technical, interpersonal, mentoring and presentation skills
  • at least 15 years experience in applied interpretation and mapping in upstream exploration and development
  • Bachelors, Master or PhD in geology or geoscience.
