Petroleum Engineering, Modeling and Related Services

Petroleum engineering studies are fundamental to profitable operations. The evaluation of the performance of each reservoir and well is an essential part of all of our multi-disciplinary studies. At SCA, petroleum engineering validates the geologic interpretation and focuses on the remaining potential of the field. SCA's petroleum engineers combine volumetric and performance evaluation results to determine the exploration, exploitation, and remaining potential reserves and resources of all properties.

Petroleum engineers review all field data and build oil and gas completion and production databases. From these databases, projections of remaining oil and gas reserves potential for each producing completion are made. SCA forecasts the timing and the performance of the behind pipe, the undeveloped and exploitation potential, utilizing core and log characteristics, fluid properties, and past performance in the field. Our experienced professionals combine all available information to develop a depletion plan to exploit the remaining reserves on each property in the most efficient manner.

Achieving the full potential of a property includes evaluating the efficiency of each completion, the artificial lift system in each well and the efficiency of the surface facilities. SCA's petroleum engineers incorporate build up analysis and nodal analysis to propose the proper action to maximize production efficiency.

Determining the number of wells to drill, locating wells at the optimum position, drilling vertical/horizontal wells, perforating sufficient interval with the required density and completing wells with the correct tubulars are essential to effectively developing and depleting the reserve potential of all oil and gas properties. SCA's experienced engineers incorporate recommendations in their depletion plans to best recover the remaining reserve potential.
